The Columbia crater group

The Columbia crater group in the Apollo impact basin, in memory of the first Space Shuttle and its crew, lost ten years ago in a catastrophic accident during re-entry, February 1, 2003. Chang'E-2 global medium resolution mosaic [CNSA/CLEP].
The Columbia crater group (ellipse), in context with the Apollo basin, a site set aside for remembering heroes, beyond the naked eye of Earth, on the most remote plains of the Earth-Moon system. LROC Wide Angle Camera (WAC) monochrome mosaic [NASA/GSFC/Arizona State University].
The Moon's farside, with the Columbia crater group designated with an arrow, and the Apollo basin itself in context of the ancient South Pole-Aitken basin. LROC WAC DTM [NASA/GSFC/Arizona State University].
